Santuario de Santo Cristo

This massive church and convent was built by Dominican friars from 1602 to 1604 in earthquake Baroque tradition. Enshrined in its main altar is a larger thatn life image of crucified Christ. The image of the Santo Cristo was transferred to enlarged church in San Juan del Monte from Binondo Church in Manila. The church gained popularity during the Spanish period when a spring good for drinking water was discovered within the convent.
