As a museum committed to community engagement and cultural preservation, Fundacion Sansó recognizes the vital role of cultural mapping in deepening our understanding of local heritage. This initiative aims to identify, document, and highlight the rich historical, artistic, and cultural landmarks within a Local Government Unit (LGU), making them more accessible and visible to both residents and visitors.

Fundacion Sanso worked with Traveler on Foot - Glenn Martinez to be able to work on this project.

By creating an interactive, illustrated map enriched with video features, photo documentation, and in-depth historical research, our team works to showcase the unique character and creative identity of each community. Beyond being a visual guide, the map also serves as a living archive. It is a valuable tool for education, tourism, and heritage appreciation.

Through this collaborative effort with local researchers, creatives, and with the invaluable support of the LGU, the map becomes a platform that empowers local communities. It brings attention to cultural sites, helps promote responsible tourism, and supports local vendors and community stakeholders whose stories and contributions are woven into the fabric of the area.

Fundacion Sansó hopes that this initiative will spark a greater appreciation for cultural heritage and inspire similar efforts across other communities in the Philippines.
