Participating in Premio Sanso 2024 was a highlight of my artistic journey. It's such an honor to showcase my work alongside talented young artists. Fundacion Sanso really has become a place for young talents. I can see the museum’s commitment to supporting the next generation of artists in the country, fostering scholars, and engaging with different universities, helping student artists like me to have our platform in the art world.

I remember how my parents used to struggle to budget money just to pay for school tuition and their medications. Most of the time, they would set aside their own needs just for the sake of my future as an artist. But when the Sanso scholarship program came, our lives became much easier.

Thanks to their scholarship program, my parents became more at ease with the expenses related to school. My self-esteem also got a boost because I felt that my future as an artist was more secure. It also helped me with the materials I use every time we have a project. Before, my vision for each artwork was often compromised because of our limited budget. These days, I’m able to create more refined and meaningful pieces, something that was once limited by our tight budget.

That’s why I’m deeply thankful to Fundacion Sanso, because so much has changed in our lives. I’ve gained more hope that one day I’ll become a successful artist.

I am one of the first batch of Fundación Sansó scholars. In 2019, I was a third-year Fine Arts student at Bulacan State University when I received this opportunity. There were six of us in that group, and most were my seniors. I often found myself quietly wondering if I truly belonged. But being chosen was a turning point. It gave me a sense of trust in myself that I didn’t know I needed.

That same year, I had my first group exhibition at Fundación Sansó. It was called EMERGE—a fitting name for a moment that allowed me to take my first real steps in the art world. Sharing that space with my fellow scholars made me feel seen and supported. After EMERGE, I slowly began receiving invitations to join other group exhibitions in different galleries. Each show felt like a quiet affirmation, a small step forward that began with Fundación Sansó believing in me.

There were times I felt invisible, like my art lived in silence. But Fundación Sansó saw me. They reminded me that my work matters—that even the softest voice in art deserves to be heard.

Even now, whenever I visit Fundación Sansó, it still feels like coming home. It brings me back to that time when my heart and my hands were full, and my art had a place to grow. It’s where I first found not just support, but a sense of belonging.

Thank you, Fundación Sansó, for opening that first door—and for reminding me, always, that I should not stop creating.

I am truly grateful to be a scholar of Fundación Sansó. This opportunity gave me the courage to step out of my shell and create freely without the fear of wasting materials or doubting the worth of my work. Being part of major exhibitions like Luzon Art Fair 2023 and 2024 pushed me to believe in myself and to take pride in what I create.

These experiences urged me to have confidence and embrace my identity as an artist. Through the scholar grant, I was able to fully enjoy my years in Fine Arts. It not only supported me financially but also emotionally and creatively. Because of this scholarship, I now proudly call myself a painter. I will always cherish the connections I’ve made through Sansó and remain forever thankful for all the opportunities, growth, and recognition it has given me.

I am one of the scholars of Fundacion Sansó, and it has been a tremendous help in supporting my financial needs throughout my studies. Beyond that, being part of the Fundacion sanso opened my eyes to the broader art scene, it exposed me to the legacy of Juvenal Sansó, expanded my understanding of art beyond the classroom, and motivated me to be more competitive and committed as an artist. The experience encouraged me to pursue my passion with deeper purpose, and to apply what I’ve learned in ways that honor both my roots and my craft

As a young artist, art is a world where I found myself. Creating artworks is like creating my life. And in reality, pursuing a passion requires a lot of effort and support. I know that there is more I can do and explore with the talent and skills I have, but sometimes I feel that it is so impossible to learn without worrying about the expenses of art materials and also in my course as a fine arts student. When I became a scholar of Fundacion Sanso, It felt like I no longer had to worry about anything. I just found myself being so excited to explore more in the field of arts. I experienced participating and being part of the premio sanso, art exhibitions, art fairs, and art seminars. I will be forever grateful to Fundacion Sanso not just because of the financial support, but because it gave me so many opportunities to grow and helped me to understand everything about life and art. I learned that even failures are achievements, because these failures taught me to improve and be a courageous artist.
